Backwards compatibility woohoo! Now I can just skip the PS2 altogether and wait for this badboy! (Yes, I'm the only gamer on earth that never owned a PS2)

No, you're not. I never owned a Playstation either. I am what you might call 'anti-Sony'.

No PS2 here. I'm anti-sony consoles ever since that crappy playstation beat on the far superior Sega Saturn. That and I despise their controllers.

I believe the ergonomics are something you have to feel to believe. That being said, Sony's DualShock2 (standard controller for PS2) has the best ergonomics and layout of any controller I've ever used (all Nintendo and Sony consoles, Sega Genesis and Dreamcast). Never used a Saturn.

Really? I prefer the gamecube wavebird. I think that's probably the best controller I've ever used.

    I can see it now:

Sony Exec: (biting nails during the XboX 360 launch) "CRAP THEY MADE IT WHITE... QUICK, MAKE A WHITE PS3"

Of course! White is the pimp color! You should see some of the guys at my high school dressed in white suits. Only a few can make it look good.
...That's why I think these consoles should not be white.

I like the Wavebird controllers too. The standard gamecube controller is my second favorite. :)

Yeah. I used to have a Playstation 1 (yes, the big one), and I thought the controller was good, more comfortable than N64's. Then we got Gamecube, and now I hatehatehate Playstation controllers. That one looks worse than the last. Of course, we'll have to see, but damn. I must say, though, that and the console look very futuristic. Whether that's good or bad is hard to say. Hopefully we'll get a glimpse of the Revolution at E3

    /me prays we do

TheGr81: Yeah, we had a few of those at prom, too. I thought about it, but I know I couldn't pull it off. I got a zoot suit instead :D

Well it's interesting to say the least. Controllers have to be one of the ugliest things I have ever seen in my life though, but at least it seems they will fit people who have larger then 4" long hands. What in the world is with the joysticks though? Am I the only person in this world that just thinks the positioning of those is not only the biggest pain in FPS but also extremely uncomfortable hands.

    9" long hands here

    Holy fugly bat controller batman!

Go go gadget double dildo! (It DOES vibrate :D )

Asside from that the console looks cool. 2.0 TFLOPS is double that of the XBOX 360.

Looks to me that the palms will be pushed too far away from the buttons. Maybe they'll be better constructed than my broken dualshocks, though.

i dont really care what any of you guys think but the playstation 3 will be far superior to the xbox 360 for a number of reasons... first of all if you look at the xbox 360 - kinda looks like the ps2 dont it? - it can lay down you can stand it up, the eject button and the place where you insert cd's are in the same place as the playstation 2 only on the other side. Now, the graphics the xbox can only process 500 million polygons per second whereas the playstation 3 can process 800 million polygons per second.
In terms of graphics the playstation3 wins, in looks the ps3 wins, in terms of games im not sure but i hate it when you snotty xbox fans think that 1 game will own the ps3 - halo 3? i dont think so as the second halo was somewhat disappointing as it didnt have the same originality and length as the first one so halo 3 wont be that amazing.. and one more thing...when all of you idiots say that xbox has become an entertainment system and that the ps3 isnt are ALL wrong. There will be 2 versions of the ps3, one will be a huge entertainment system with the games and everything and dvd burners and the capability of recording tv and the second one, a watered down version for hardcore gamers which is cheaper so HAAAAA!

uh... okay? I'm not saying you're wrong, the PS3 might end up being a better console. I will, however, be buying an XBOX 360 at launch because there are at least 5 games I've read about that are being released along with the console that I really really want

    Enter the console fanboy.
    /me sighs.
It doesn't matter which console is technically superior. The quality, quantity, and variety of the games will be everything, and it will be a long time before we know what that will be. Launch titles are typically poor indicators.

Even though I disagreed with many of Microsoft's philosophies in the design and marketing of the Xbox, I would have bought one if it had more games that I liked.

Sorry Garg, but I think you've got it wrong. It doesn't matter about the quantity or variety, and the quality doesn't seem to get into it either. What matters is if it can play Gran Tourismo. I don't see an Xbox with GT5 announced for it, do you? :D Really, thats all that matters in terms of console games.

/me starts saving his change for a PS3

I understand this isn't necessarily directed at me, I just want to point out that all I was saying is that I'm really looking forward to the launch titles, not that it makes one console better than the other
