Recently on AIM I have been getting alot of messages from friends that say "Hey, is this you?" I don't click on it, because its most likely a virus of some sort, but I was just wondering if anyone else has seen this, or has some info on it. Its very obvious that the person didn't send it, but the virus or whatever it is, sent it because I've gotten the same exact message from over 20 people. They will just randomly come every now and then. thanks

(o yea and where it says "this" it is a link. I will get the link it next time i get one is sent to me.

Yeah, spent 3 hours today trying to fix my friend's computer.

Used basically everytthing our security center has to offer in the downloads section of S-M and made myself look like a genious. Those SVT boys run a tight ship, had to use everything from the LSP-Fix to SpyBot to get him back online, up, and running.

What exactly does the virus do though? What files does it go after?

Not sure if it really goes after anything, but I don't know anything about it.

I can tell you what it did to my friend's computer though:

CTRL-Alt-Delete auto-closed or sometimes crashed the computer
    Internet was unusable
    File(s) created on C: drive
Random error message every 15 seconds
Ad-Aware, Norton, Spybot crash when trying to be run
    Aim Crash

That's not a solution to the problem he is having. Even if he did uninstall AIM it's just covering up the problem.
