Nero Problems

I am trying to burn my first DVD which is a short movie that was an AVI, and when I get it to start, it shows that it's "Creating Menu's and Transcoding Streams" and it claims that there is only 2h 28m 57s remaining everytime I try, it just sits there at that same number while the elapsed time continues on. I doubt it's frozen, but when I try aborting it, THEN it hangs. But I can "minimize to tray" and change some settings just fine if I wanted.

The only thing I can figure is that it's re-encoding the video and taking an amazingly long time to do it. But if that is so, why does it not tell me how much longer it will actually be instead of just hanging at the "2h 28m 57s"?

Anyone have any input or advice? Something?

    More information...

I left it on while I was at work, it was on for more than 12 hours, and it said something like 2h 20m or so... something slightly less than what was posted above. But it still wasn't really moving or anything. What could it be?

You need a LOT of RAM and open HD space to do this faster, try 1-3 GIGs of total RAM alone (don't count HD free space). VERY fast computer also, Dell is specing computers at over 3 GHz for this kind of task.
