Resolution and color auto-switch to LOWEST at random

MY dad was surfing the internet and suddenly the res. and color goes to the lowest. So i just restarted adn eveything was fine. again it happened. I am guessing its those files that could not be copied while I installed windows. Does anyone know the file?? :mad:

    try reinstall your video card driver.

    Right now Im trying the XP repair which is copying the files again.

    If it's always the same bunch of files, I would guess you either have a bad CD or a bad cdrom drive. If they are different files, I would be concerned about the hard drive. It boils down to a question of is Windows having trouble reading the files from the disc, or difficulty writing them to the drive.

    I hope the repair install does it for you. If you encounter the same runaround I would try a different cdrom drive and also run the diagnostic from the HD manufacturer. Have you run memtest?

    YEP I RAn memtest. I just finished the repair. When I did the repair it didnt skip any files. I used a different CD as well. hopefully its ganna work
