I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but if your router uses NAT, it uses NAT. You don't have to do anything to turn it on or off. It's just on from the get go and that's how it works.
Having said that, I have some D-Link equipment on a shelf and I will probably throw it away before I attempt to use it again as it was such a pain in the butt to set up and maintain. I now use Netgear and Linksys for the network stuff exclusively.
