Cannot find server or DNS Error??

hello i have the next problem:
I can't see my mail in hotmail account but only when i am using the browser i explorer cause when i use mozilla fire fox i see my mail with no problems.
the error mesage is: Cannot find server or DNS Error??
I also can't login with MSM v6, and neither with MSM explorer:

i also can't do a online scan neither with panda or bitdefender it says i need to actualize my i explorer version but when i try to donwload it it says that i have the latest version so it won't install ¿?¿ :confused::scratch::scratch::scratch::scratch::scratch:

    Open the Windows Explorer (double click the My computer icon) and navigate to this path:

    C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\

    And post the contents of the file called "hosts".

    :( i don't understand.

    i openned the
    C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\
    and the hosts file is a program , how can i see it's contents?
    i try it openning the hosts file with notepad and the result was
    127.0.0.1
    i am not sure but i think thats my nic's ip.

    Are you running both Panda and BitDefender antivirus programs? If so that's a bad idea. They can clash and cause your system to be very unstable or even crash.

    and save it to your desktop. After it is downloaded, close all Internet Explorer windows and doubleclick on the file. When it asks if you want to merge to the registry say yes. Restart Internet Explorer and see if there is any difference.

    yes, i have the same problems, i can't connect to Msm messenger 6.2
    and i can't see my email from hotmail using iexplorer
    but i can see it using mozilla firefox, and also can connect to my msm account using mercury

    You need to update IE. You are using a very outdated version. Visit Windows update and install all critical updates, including SP2.

    i donwloaded IE , but when i tried to install it , a message appear saying i that the version i am trying to install is oldest that the one i have installed in my pc

    You need to install Windows XP Service Pack 2. That will come bundled with the current version of IE.

    pff sorry it's hard to help you (or feel sorry for you) when you're running pirated software. You're gonna need SP2 for all the security updates. Get a legit copy of windows and then you'll find all the help you need here.
