problems clcoking

hi i am novice trying to overclock my amd 64 winchester 3000=

yes i have read few guide and have a basic idea what to do . but as soon as i has raise or drop my mutiplier just a notch or increase the htt a notch . my system hangs . just trying the basic stuff but without sucess

    The multiplyer is locked and you wana lower htt as the need arises like if you rase your bus to 220 you need to lower the htt to 4X.
