Intel Northwood CPUs (2 questions)

1. Does anyone know if there are/can be any differences in the cpus if one was manufactured like 2 years ago and one just recently? I'm getting an rma for a northwood c cpu and don't know if a newer version may be worse/better for ocing or other things.

2. Does anyone know where I could buy a 3.4c cpu? Preferably I would want it retail. I may go with a 3.2 upgrade if I have to, but since they made a 3.4c I would preferably like to get the max and know I can't get any better in this wonderful (last great) Intel cpu line.

1. Sure newer CPUs have minor tweaks in them from time to time. They usually run cooler as well as the process is fine tuned.

Anyone know any specifics on any steppings in the line?

And... okay, a few oem cpus have been established, but does anyone know where, or maybe if retail versions are available?

The presscott is the newer one and it runs WAY hotter

No, I am not talkint about that. Newer CPUs with different steppings are often better than first batches.
