Anyone remember me? :D

I'm the idiot that always forgets to do a weekly update on anti-spyware programs and system cleaning. Lol, okay, enough about my poor memory for now. Just reccently noticed a few programs on my computer that should not be there and with the added bonus of pop-ups galore.
Its a pain in my you-know-where. :(

Anyway, I did the whole Ad-aware programs and Spyware S&D, my log-file as of now:

I deleted most of the ones you said to, JAVAVX32.DLL was no where to be found strange as it is, and appearently WINCW.EXE has somehow found its way back on my pc..
Anyway, fixed those entries and restarted pc, new log file as of now:

    A few new ones...

Place a checkmark next to these entries, close all browsers and windows, and have HijackThis fix them by clicking Fix Checked:

    O2 - BHO: CExtension Object - {0019C3E2-DD48-4A6D-ABCD-8D32436323D9} - C:\WINDOWS\CFGMGR52.DLL

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [exp.exe] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\exp.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WinTask driver] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\wintask.exe

Reboot your computer into SAFE MODE

Then delete these files or directories (Do not be concerned if they do not exist):

    C:\WINDOWS\CFGMGR52.DLL
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\exp.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\wintask.exe
    AUNPS2.DLL

Reboot your computer to go back to normal mode.

Please run at least two of these online scans.
Make sure they are set to clean automatically

    Panda Virus Scan

    Bit Defender

    TrendMicro Housecall

There will be files that these scans will not remove. Please include that information in your next post.

Reboot and post a new hijackthis log and the info from your virus scans.

I fixed the checked and deleted the files in safe mode.
However, as for the scanning, Panda Virus Scan rather 'froze' in mid scanning, I waited about 23 minutes for it to continue, but it never did, so I closed that.
Bit Defender went a lot better, but unless my eyes are too tired, it said it would finish scanning in 3 hours' time. Time which I don't have at the moment.

I rebooted, scanned using HJT, new log as of now:

I'm sorry, but I've limited time while using this pc, and 3 hours is just shy from my limit.
I do hope that extra info isn't nessasary. :(

No problem. The online scans can take a long time.

Your log looks clean to me. Are you having any more problems?
  • edited June 2005
Plenty problems still. I'm still getting one of the same problems as I had when I first noticed something was wrong, it being that Explorer stops responding whenever I turn on my computer. Everything seems to be working fine, but this worries mes till, I've never had any such problem with Explorer like this before.
In replace of Explorer I get something else called Rundll32, I'm guessing it has something to do with the program itself, but I don't know really.
Everything else seems to be doing okay though, but on the safe side, let me post another HJT log later tonight to see if everything stays as good as it is.

Are you getting an error message?
rundll32.exe is a process which executes DLL's an places their libraries into the memory, so they can be used more efficiently by applications.

Do you perform regular maintenance(scandisc, defrag, registry clean) on this computer?
  • edited June 2005
No error messages, just the not responding next to the program in the list.
I guess I shouldn't put too much thought into it what with everything else being fine and being able to work on here againg without any other problems.
But just in case, I'd like one more look at my HJT log an see if its still ok.

Nope, not clean unfortunately. You've picked up some new stuff since your last log.

I just noticed that you are not using the most current version of hijackthis(1.99.1). Please download it here.

    http://www.short-media.com/download.php?d=245

Run Hijackthis. Click on "Open the Misc Tools section". Next click on "Open uninstall manager".
Press the button 'save list'. It will open a Notepad file. Place the content of that file here in your in your next post.

Also post a new hijackthis log.

Hmmm...you have quite a selection of bad guys there.

Please remove these entries from Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel(if present):

Some of these programs may already be gone from your system. Some others may not allow themselves to be removed at all. That's ok, just proceed through the list and make note of any problems that you have along the way. We'll clean up the stubborn ones next.

    ===============

Open Notepad, copy and paste the text below and "Save As" find.bat
In the "Save as type" select: All Files and save it to your desktop.

    cd\
    cd Program Files
    DIR /AD /B /P > ProgramFiles.txt
    start ProgramFiles.txt
    cls
    exit

Double click on find.bat It will open up a list in notepad. Please copy that list and post it back here in your next reply.

Grr.. sorry to say, but Ad-Aware won't work. I downloaded it three times already, trying from different mirror sites as well, but it still won't respond no matter what I do nor how long I wait.
Its far more frustrating for me to not be able to do this step you've provided for me, seeing how it very well could finally rid my pc of all it's troubles.
I don't know what to do about it.. :bawling:

Anyway, in case you'll ask later, my HJT log as of now:
