eSupport.com Award Software

Anyone used this service to upgrade their BIOS? I'm *hoping* that they effectively offer BIOS upgrades for motherboards that are no longer supported by their manufacturer; I'm hoping it might solve my boot problems with a SATA Controller card and add S3 Standy to my system. Anyone know if I'm being hopelessly unrealistic?

I guess the other possibility is that they just maintain a database of latest manufacturer BIOS for different motherboards and charge to distribute them, which is no use to me at all...

Microstar MS-6167 - latest BIOS is 1.6, based on Award 6.00, and which dates to 2000, I think. So in computer world, archaic.

They did manage to give me a new BIOS that did solve my problem, so I'm a happy bunny. Didn't add S3 standy (or not in so many words - it seems to be working as far as XP is concerned!).
