I've only actually used one gaming headset - Plantronics Audio .90 - And I reeeally loved those. Is there an even better one? I don't want to pay any more than about $30 (on ebay) for this headset. Please suggest some, and tell me what your favorite is. thanks

I got a zalman 5.1 surround (with optional microphone)

I love it mainly because you can hear them sneak up behind you.

I have a Logitech headseat/mic thing, it's great, lots of abuse and still sounds great. Definitly don't buy an Altec Lansing headset dealie, that was my first one and it broke after a little over a month, it was a real piece and the sound quality wasnt that good anyway.

after browsing Logitech's site it looks like they dont make the particular model I bought anymore, but I can vouch for the quality of them if they're still made mostly the same, I think this one cost $30 from best buy.

that's the "Premium Stereo Headset" (standard in/out headphone and mic)

that one they dont make anymore, but an identical one on their site is called the "Premium USB Headset 200/300"

lol Camman- looked like you got ripped and fell for the "Premium" advertising scam!

Zalman.. I had no idea they made headsets! I'm looking at that one right now on ebay, but theres only 2: No mic- $44.95, MIC- $69.99. Thats definitely out of my price range for a simple headset. Are there any good ones that are cheaper??

uhh, nope, the Logitech one is the one I've had for a long time now is good quality, the Altec-Lansing was the POS. Theyre all called "premium", I was just putting it down because that was the name and my response to what was the "best gaming headset" because I like it alot.

Hey, Pilot I have been usng the Plantronics Audio .90's now for 2 years. I have gone through 3 sets. .. I got Children..

At one time I had the ones Cammon posted and the audio is no where near the plantronics .90's They just don't put out the base. The link you posted http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16826106935 Looks very interesting. PLease let me know if you go with them and the audio quality. Or if you get a pair that's under 30 that beats the .90. My mic is broken and I want to get a new srt this time and try somthing different.

If you wear glasses, the behind the head headphones tend to be really, really uncomfortable, in my experience.

Let me know how they sound but I don't think they will have as rich of a sound as the platronics.

yeah they probably wont be as good as the plantronics, but its worth a try. I wear glasses sometimes, and contacts other times. It might be uncomfortable.. but I'll just have to see

ok well I've decided I'm going to buy the Plantronics Audio .90 headset. The OEM is cheaper on Newegg and looks fine (dont need packaging for extra few dollars), and I'm on a really tight budget. I'm going to buy them right now. I know they'll be great cuz I've used them before! http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16826106014

Weird, I just got an email that there was a new post on this thread. Obviously there isn't. Funny thing is, I need to order some new headphones. Maybe I'll buy a pair over the weekend. Does anyone have any recommendations? I'd like to keep it under $50.00 if possible

I couldn't commit to a more expensive pair so I bought some plantronics. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826265064

I sure do miss my Everglides. Those were the toughest pair of headphones I've ever had. I think they lasted me for about 3 or 4 years. With every other pair of headphones I've had to replace them every 6 mos to a year. It's why I find it so hard to spend over 50 on a pair.

These were the best ones I've had. Until I broke the headband.
