Video compression

I'm taking some video of a game with FRAPS, but the problem is that it saves its videos completely uncompressed.

13 seconds of video at 512x384 at 30fps with sound - 73 megs.

What software do you recommend I use? I just need something to make the movies smaller, I could probably edit it to my needs with Windows movie maker. Anything free?

    Thrax, AutoGK seems to only work on MPEG2 files. It also came like 3 other programs. It took me about ten minutes to find that it didn't work for me...

    EDIT: I think the movies FRAPS creates are AVI. Sorry, I thought I had said that in my first post.

    AutoGK deals with AVI now.

    After messing with a boatload of lightweights, we finally got
    Sorenson Squeeze. What a relief! Not too expensive.
