Error Message Won't Go Away

My buddy's computer keeps getting an error message on his XP computer that prevents him from turning off, restarting, or hibernating his computer. He can start a system restore, but it can't complete it because the computer won't shutdown and restart properly. The application that is giving him the error message is: mscifapp.exe. Even when you hold the power button in to force the computer to immediately shutdown, when you start it up again, the error message pops up again. Clicking on "ok" or "cancel" on the error message does nothing.

    mscifapp.exe is a process associated with the McAfee Privacy Service. It is a solution for protecting personal information while surfing as well as blocking advertising.

    The system restore finally went through and closed out mcafree. Is mcafree the problem here?

    I had him run a hijack this log and here's the results...please let me know if you have any suggestions!

    i would take out mcafee alltogether and get something better. mcafee takes up too much ram and cpu, and I've heard of all kinds of problems always with mcafee. I didn't like it myself at all when i tried it.

    Post that log in the HiJackThis board and have it looked at by people who really know what they're looking for (not me). :)

    lol no problem. no im not a pilot, I've just had this screename for a lonnnng time and I use it for everything. Back when I made it i aspired to be a pilot, but plans have changed since then.
