Parents computer had a trojan. Removed it. Now after windows loading screen, when I should be looking at a background w/ icons and start menu, there is just a black screen. Ctrl+alt+del is responsive and lists all the normal processes running. I can also launch apps like adaware and outlook express through "new task" in task manager. Preferably we will not do a reinstall of windows, but can if we have to. Is runnign windows xp pro.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

On my parents computer, I just launched mspaint, minimized the window, hit PrtScn, then saved the picture to my computer. This is what it looks like when a window is minimized.
