I think it's supposed to look like a turbo-charger or an acceleration pump. What ever it is it's double butt ugly!

That's a sure way to appeal to the enthsiast market! ;D

Looks like a cephalopod. For the money that thing must cost, I think I'd rather get an Ammonite fossil of the same size. Kudos for creativity, but I won't buy one.

I don't think its butt ugly? Then again consider I also raise Newfoundland dogs which can sling 10" long pieces or dog slobber onto the ceiling when they shake their heads so take that recomendation with a grain of salt.

at first site I thought it looked like a squirrel cage fan...then a snail...then.....uglyness. pure uglyness in its purest form. I'll take my 12 year old beige case that im remodeling right now over that expensive Pos anyday. cant wait till my case is done. first it had a Pentium 233 then a P3 600 and now my present system. finaly decided it was time to make it look better. Im also upgrading my system. I'll put up a thread when all the mods are done

My brother showed this to me the other day. The first thing I thought was, "The Golden Ratio." The Greeks figured it out and used it in most of their work. It was lost when Greece fell, but da Vinci later used it in his paintings.
Geometrically, it can be defined as the ratio obtained if a line is divided so that the length of the shorter segment is in the same proportion to that of the longer segment as the length of the longer segment is to the entire line.

The nautilus, however (which is what that shape is... sorta), is the spitting image of that pattern in some geometrical way. It's also extremely common in nature, like how leaves are spaced apart, and tons of other things. It was mentioned a lot in The DaVinci Code. [/geek]

My guess is they're playing on that idea, the "perfect case," to an extreme level. I agree, though - freakin' ugly. Cool concept (instead of just a box), but ugly.

    Edit:
Ok, the number is 1.618054. Here's a lot of information about the nautilus and Phi, if anyone's interested: http://www.gi.alaska.edu/ScienceForum/ASF7/716.html

So there's your little math lesson for today ;D

If the fans are placed right you could do some neat stuff with airflow patterns, get a nice swirling effect going in it, which in itself is not beneficial but neat.

Id use it if they changed the base. The flat metal base makes it look dorky to me.

LOL. If you ever get to review one Brian, lemme know cause I want to look at it too.

Looks funny, but that's all... i don't want a computer case that looks 'funny', i want one that looks nice&sweet... and for my case with the v2000, HUGE ! ;)

btw, yes it's cool to see that lian li is 'trying' different things... Even if some of them are weird :wtf:

Yikes, can't say I like it.. Lian Li should stick to the georgeous (and functional) traditional styles they are known for. That thing probably costs a fortune too.

wow yeah you're v2000 is really nice. Really expensive though at $235

yeah I kinda like it too. It has an original design to it, so obviously you'd have a case like nobody else's! I wouldn't mind having that.

its all aluminum. It weights in about about 10 pounds empty. Ive never built a lian li box that, even fully loaded with crap, weighted half as much as a steel case. We built this one and fully loaded I could carry it with 1 arm.
