I have posted my HJT lof many times and someone will say that they are clean. However, when I use KASPERSKY ANTI-VIRUS WEB SCANNER to scan my entire computer, I found out that C:\Program Files\Norton Internet Security\Norton AntiVirus\Quarantine\1DEF1A3D.dll and C:\Program Files\Norton Internet Security\Norton AntiVirus\Quarantine\1DF34439.tmp are infected with Trojan-Downloader.Win32.IstBar.gen. I will post my HJT log again.

    When you get virus warnings, pay attention to the file locations:

    C:\Program Files\Norton Internet Security\Norton AntiVirus\Quarantine\1DEF1A3D.dll

    C:\Program Files\Norton Internet Security\Norton AntiVirus\Quarantine\1DF34439.tmp


    Norton AntiVirus\Quarantine means that the infected file has been QUARANTINED by Norton Anti-virus. When Norton scans your hard drive, it knows that anything in the Norton AntiVirus\Quarantine directory has been put in Quarantine by Norton. The problem is that when you scan with other anti-virus apps, like in your case here, Kaspersky, it does not necessarily recognize that the file has already been quarantined by another antivirus app, so it reports it.

    This has also been known to fool some people the first time they run a different anti-virus app that the new app is much better than their existing app because it suddenly found 2, 10, 20, even 100 files that the other app does not report!! In reality, the first app does not report them because it knows it has rendered them harmless by sticking them in the Quarantine folder and locking them there.

    If you want to keep using more than one anti-virus app, you can do one of 2 things here:

    - In Kaspersky, you can set it to ignore these 2 files, and any future files it finds in your Norton AntiVirus\Quarantine folder.

    - In Norton, you can go into Reports, and View Quarantined Items. From there you can delete each item in the Quarantine.

    So, your log is clean. Other sites have been correct about this. They just have not taken the time to explain to you properly what your problem really is :)

    You have HJT running from a temp directory, which is not recommended.
