Unmountable Boot Volume Error.

today my computer was on and my moniter got bumped off my desk on the floor by accident. it seemed fine when i got it back up on the desk but then when i restarted my computer i got a blue screen saying "unmountable boot volume error". i tried starting it in safe mode but that didnt work. also i tried putting in my windows xp install disk but that didnt show up. can some1 help me? :confused::confused::confused:

    i havnt tried "resseting the BIOS" yet. i dont understand what to do, do u think this could fix it? can some1 walk me through what to do please? thanks :scratch:

    I didn't hit the PC on it's way to the floor did it?

    Have you tried testing out a the HD makers diagnostic tools on the problem hard drive? I would try that and let us know what it tells you.

    nope it did not hit the computer on the way down but the cords may have pulled on it. how do u do diagnostic tools thing? sorry, im not very good with computers so u might need to explain some stuff.

    If it's pulled on the cables and jerked the PC, have you opened it up and checked if anythings come loose?

    Excellent suggestion. :thumbsup:

    If the monitor data cable yanked the video card (or anything else) loose that would do it.
