No Audio Device!!! HELP

edited June 2005 in Hardware
I have an Elitegroup ECS K7VTA3 mobo .. and I did an XP install on it and everything went well...etc..etc.... except it says "No Audio Device" and I have the speakers plugged in and there should be/is built in sound on the mobo.. I even checked the new egg website to make sure there was intergrated audio..

Any suggestions?

It looks like that board has the VIA® VT1612A 2-channel audio CODEC (Compliant with AC'97 2.2 specification).

Have you installed the drivers? If not, they are available here.

Is the sound enabled in the BIOS?

Moved to Graphics and Sound :)

One thing I should have asked is whether you have any "Unknown Devices" listed in Device Manager. If you do, the driver will almost certainly take care of your problem. :)
