Lost sound card
I upgraded my windows me to xp. It said to download new drivers for my sound max digital audio, as it was not signed by Microsoft and could damage me os. So I went to compaq and downloaded what they recommended which was sp 24242 Sound Max Cadenza. First thing program told me to do was uninstall my digital audio, so I did. But when I went to install Cadenza I got message " Driver not found! Reboot your system and try again."
So I did, two or three times. Didn't work.
Upshot is I have spent two very frustrating days searching half a dozen sites (Driver downoads, microsoft, compaq & & &) for a driver, for my original Sound max digital audio or one for sound max cadenza.
Even worse I don't know how to get my old sound back.
