Computer stops before mem check

Mother board = biostar u8668 grand, i know it sucks,

bios screen comes up,

stops, but have option f8 to enable system config,

f9 to select booting device after post.

del to enter setup,

if i hit either f8 or f9, it runs mem check and pulls up the hd drives and boots .

anybody know what could be going wrong.

i flashed the bios, didn't help.
