Help! Need an expert opinion

I have a HP Laptop that I have lost all control over. Anytime I click on any folders, Windows Explorer crashes. There are now buttons missing when I click on Start; such as Run, and Search. WHen I click on Start, then all programs, nothing happens. I can do limited things in safe mode. This computer is running Windows XP Pro. Spybot didn't find anything. Here is the Hijack This log report:

You may want to print these instructions for your reference.

If you have not done so please download Ad-Aware se:

    http://majorgeeks.com/Ad-Aware_SE_Personal_d506.html

Save the setup file to your desktop. Run the setup file for Ad-Aware se and then update it with the latest definitions. Exit this for now.

Close all open windows and run Hijack This. Place a checkmark next to these entries and click Fix Checked:

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = res://C:\WINDOWS\boprw.dll/sp.html#58582
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = res://C:\WINDOWS\boprw.dll/sp.html#58582
    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = about:blank
    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = res://C:\WINDOWS\boprw.dll/sp.html#58582
    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = res://C:\WINDOWS\boprw.dll/sp.html#58582
    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = res://C:\WINDOWS\boprw.dll/sp.html#58582
    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = res://C:\WINDOWS\boprw.dll/sp.html#58582
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [javabx32.exe] C:\WINDOWS\javabx32.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [apidm32.exe] C:\WINDOWS\apidm32.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [javamd.exe] C:\WINDOWS\system32\javamd.exe
    O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {08B0E5C0-4FCB-11CF-AAA5-00401C608501} - (no file)

    O23 - Service: Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Helper ( 11Fßä#·ºÄÖ`I) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\crpr.exe

Make sure Spybot and Ad-Aware are updated.

Reboot into safe mode. To enter safe mode>reboot>at the start up screen tap f8>select safe mode from the menu.

Now delete these files or directories if they exist:

    C:\WINDOWS\boprw.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\javabx32.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\apidm32.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\javamd.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\crpr.exe

While still in safe mode run a "full system scan" with Ad-aware and spybot.

Reboot into normal mode and run two of these online scans:

    http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

    http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/activescan/com/activescan_principal.htm

    http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html

In your next post, let me know of any files that are not removed/disinfected by these scans.

Post a new lHijack this log.

Thanks alot for your time! I have completed the steps above. Ad-Aware found 36 critical objects and I removed them. Spybot then found 91 objects, which I removed. I booted into safe mode and I deleted all of the files that you suggested with the exception of boprw.dll (it didn't exist). I ran Ad-Aware again and spybot - all checked good. I rebooted the computer and am still having thew same problems. What is happening is that when windows is completing it's boot process, a Internet Explorer window pops up, with a blank screen, and the only way I can get rid of it is to end the application (Ctrl-ALt-Del). I ran another Hijack This and most of the internet explorer items came back. Also, the buttons are still missing when I click on Start, and whenever I click on any folder, windows explorer crashes.

Here is the Hijack This Report I just ran:

Run Hijack this again and place a checkmark next to these entries. Click Fix Checked:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [iexplore.exe] C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [iezt.exe] C:\WINDOWS\system32\iezt.exe

    Delete these files:

    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\iezt.exe

Now try to run the online scans. Let me know if you are able to.

Have have fixed the registry entries and deleted the files. I had to go to Safe Mode in order to navigate to the iexplore.eve, and iezt.exe. I rebooted into standard mode and Internet explorer did not pop up, however now when I click on my internet explorer icon, Windows asks me what program I want to use to open the file. The two files I deleted are still in the recycle bin. Any ideas? For your reference, Windows Explorer still crashes and my buttons are still missing. Also, several icons on my desktop cannot be recognized by Windows, one of them is Outlook.
Afer the reboot, here is my Hijack This Log:

    Restore this file:

    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe

Then reboot into safe mode and locate these files then delete them:

    C:\WINDOWS\ienn.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\addcq.exe

Reboot into normal mode and try accessing Internet Explorer.

Well, I think Internet Explorer is dead now. After restoring iexplore.exe and deleting the suggested files, Internet Explorer crashes as soon as I click on the icon. It prompts me to send an error report to Microsoft. SHould I try to reintall Internet Explorer or is there a way around this?

You can try a reinstall of IE although I'm not sure it will help.

No way around this that I'm aware of because activescan can only be used with internet explorer.

Try a reinstall and let me know if it works.
