AMD-64-X2 Compatibility with Motherboards?

Hi guys, been a while, and I certainly didn't think I'd wind up in this forum. :D

I'm buying a new machine, going to build myself, just for the old-school fun feel of it (hell, I remember putting my HDD in my Tandy 1000) :p

Anyway, I need a question answered, and ideally today (7-6-2005):

I'm thinking of buying the motherboard of my dreams: An ASUS A8N-SLI Premium, as seen on NewEgg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131540

Will this motherboard support AMD-64-X2s such as a 4400+?

I guess I haven't been keeping up on my tech news (or my folding) so feel free to berate me, but let me know what's going on please.

Newegg has a one day sale going on that motherboard, and it's just looking sooo good.

Thanks in advance,

it'll support them just fine. my friend has a 4800 X2 in one, didn't even require a bios update to get it running

if it turns out it doesn't work right off the bat, a bios update should fix it

Ive heard that just one of the cores will work so you will still be able to flash the BIOS.
