I've talked my mom into getting a new video card for her/my brothers computer. My mom just uses it for e-mail, my little brother uses it for some games like cs and half life, and my older brother uses it for picture editing.

Its a compaq with a pentium 4 2491mhz and 512mb pc-2700 and some asus board and intel extreme onboard video.

I was thinking this:

I'd probably go for the cheaper of the 2 (the 6600GT) considering what you said it'd be used for

    6600GT is a good bet.
Not too much money and nice speed.

Is the 6600gt faster than the 6800le? the price doesn't really matter.

evga is a better brand than apollo.

also grayfox tells me that 9800pros are just a little bit better for CSS than a 6600gt. Just a thought if it really matters.

edit: but the 6600gt is a litte bit better card all-around..
