ATI is not ready to ship its next generation video processor just yet but have plans to release it in Q3 '05. The R520 will be based on 90 nanometre processing and will built with 32 pipelines, with 24 available.

So far the yields with the new 90 nanometre process have been very low for ATI and their new core. This seems quite odd since they also used 90 nanometre for their R500 core which will be available in the XBOX 360.
The 600+ MHz clocked 90 nanometre chip with 24 pipelines would end up quite fast while 32 pipes would surely rock the world. It all depends how much performance ATI needs, to compete with Nvidia's latest real and shipping chips.
Hopefully ATI will be able to match nVidia and not just have a paper launch. Being able to enable those extra 8 pipelines in the ATI sure could give it an advantage over the G70.
