This could be a fairly cheap Dual Core system without having to upgrade to all new technology since the board still comes with an AGP 8x slot, DDR 400 support, and Socket 775 support.

Source: The InquirerAsrock is well known for being an "extreme" innovator. They have proved it more than once. And their price is more than competitive. They've done it once more with the release of the 775i68PE which is a i865PE based board which is compatible with Intel's Dual Core processors. Yep, we're talking about that PAT enabled, socket 478 chipset. It does come with improvement in the southbridget though. The board supports Dual DDR400, AGP 8x, five PCI slots and offers 7.1 sound channel. They now have two exotic boards - the 775Dual-880Pro being the other one - supporting Dual core for much less than the 945/955 boards.
