RAM or MOBO? :(
My friend has a 2001 Gateway that was originally packaged with 128MB PC133 SDRAM. He recently decided to upgrade and was having a problem booting the system with the new 256MB stick. The original 128 stick was placed back in and the system still gives the same error. No video, and 3 beeps (not recognizing any RAM at all.) It was suggested that I clear the CMOS, but that's also boggling. There are 2 jumpers on the board (which is an Intel D845HV), one for the onboard sound and one that just 'configures' the BIOS. This computer needs to be up working this week!
Any help or suggestions would be great. Thanks.
