Do you have an 8x or 4x agp slot in your mobo? How much do you have to spend on a new video card?

you can get a Radeon 9800 Pro from tigerdirect for $99. I don't think you'll find a much better buy than that

What is the model / brand of your mother board (mobo)
Then we can see what speed video cards you can connect to your system
The speed of the interface you plug video cards into your motherboard called the AGP slot will determine what cards you can connect to your system.
The rest of your specs seem fine
512Mb Ram and a 2GH P4 processor should allow for a reasonable amount of "grunt"
