Prices for 256-Mbit and 512-Mbit memory went up by 2.3% to $22 and by 3.3% to $44, respectively in July, Nanya, Samsung, and Hynix are all increasing the prices of their DRAM products.
Contract prices for memory products, such as DDR, DDR2, SDRAM and NAND flash, rebounded in July according to manufacturers and suppliers. For the 256-Mbit DDR-400, contract prices went up by 2.3 percent to $22 while prices for 512-Mbit DDR-400/333/266 memories went up by 3.3 percent to $44. The upward trend for prices is expected to continue until September due to high seasonal demand. Nanya has increased its contract price for 256-Mbit DDR-400 DIMMs by more than 5 percent to $23. Samsung has similarly increased its quotes of the segment 20 percent higher than average contract prices. Hynix is also set to raise its price for 16-Mbit SDRAM-166 to $0.7 per unit.
