DVDRW no longer recognized?

I got a DVDRW a while back, but it didn't work properly so I took it out and never got around to RMA'ing it. I figured I might have actually had it not plugged in correctly or something, I wanna try it out agian, but now it's not recognized in Windows.

When I put it in my system again, it shows up in the BIOS, but nothin shows in Windows, not in the Device Manager or in My Computer.

Any ideas?

    did u try to uninstall the IDE channel and let it reinstall and see if it will detect it then ??
