Dell Dimension 4400

edited July 2005 in Hardware
Hi,
I have a Dell Dimension 4400 computer, which has a blown PSU. On closer inspection I have found two small green capacitors which both have a hole blown in them.
How can I get hold of either these two parts, or a replacement PSU, without going to Dell.Thanks
:scratch::scratch:

    Well you can buy a PSU from an online retailer. I dont remember if Dell uses a proprietary PSU or not. If so then you might have to get one from ebay.

    If you have a steady hand you can get some new caps at radio shack and solder them in place of the blown caps.

    I actually just got a dell psu off ebay for $22.00 shipped yesterday (though it was from a year 2001 or so model).

    They do use proprietary pinouts on a lot of the models, here is a pinout: http://pinouts.ru/data/dell_atxpower_pinout.shtml. If you PSU matches the coloring and arrangement of those then you need to get the same model number most likely. If it doesn't match there are a couple of standard atx pinouts here: http://short-media.com/forum/showthread.php?t=30392 to see if it matches those. In which case you can put any PSU in it.
