Nearly a year after the original release of the SPV C500 smart phone the UK based mobile phone company Orange has released an improved device aimed at music lovers. The Orange SPV C550 will go on sale in Orange stores and from the companys online store this month.

Benefits over the C500 you ask? Well the company is shipping the device with an improved 1.3 mega-pixel camera, packet video streaming and a slightly improved screen & headset. All these minor improvements look set to make the C550 the perfect smartphone since Orange originally released the SPV 3 years ago. Orange have even included a 128MB Mini-SD card in the packaged so that you can store around 170 tracks to listen to whilst on the move.

The company clearly hopes the device will appeal to those who love music. "Great for Music smartphone" is the marketing and with the ability to play AAC, AACplus, MP3, WAV, MPEG-4, WMA, AMR, SO-MIDI, SMF and Poly 32 it's certainly capable of playing most formats.
I own the C500 and hands down it's the best phone I've ever had. I hope the C550 is just as innovative.
