I think it must have been "Flashback" on the Amiga. I don't remember actually successfully completing anything on the Acorn Electron of C64 before that. Damned if I can remember actually completing any games at all until I got a PC.... damn I suck.

I remember that.. and I was like 7 or 8 then...

I remember the music to that game.. Hall of the Mountain King..
everytime I hear that song.. I think of the game..

I tried it yesterday, beat it in 2 goes on my first attempt

I had three games in a row go exactly like this:

- Start.
- Move into random room, which happens to be one away from whumpus.
- Shoot into random adjacent room.
- Get eaten by whumpus.

Although I played quite a few games around that time, haloween harry, the original duke nukem, commander keen etc..

I played a bunch of the old FPSs (Doom, Duke Nukem 3D, Wolfenstein 3D), but could never beat 'em.

First game would be Dawn Patrol on the VZ-300 (Lazer 300 outside of AUS) 4 colours, a few beeps, etc.. but cool at the time...

First REAL game was F/A 18 Interceptor on the Amiga - I still have working amiga computers, A500, A2000, A1200 and still play this game!!

First PC game - Wolfenstein 3D.
