Toshiba Satellite Pro 4600

I have, at the moment a toshiba that doesnt want to do much of anything. I press the ON button, the ON LED comes on, but nothing else happens. No beep no screen, nothing. CDrom doesnt even open. BUT it gets hot. If i put on the AC, it doesnt make a difference. ANybody got any ideas?

    meh all of a sudden it decided to turn on.. i will now try to isolate the problem...

    where did you buy it? and how old is it?

    i didnt buy it.. its my friends.. thing is, i have to smack it around a bit before it turns on.. so that means.. something is loose.. or something like that... i think =/
