What gives? I've been watching this thing for 2 days and now my computer gets restarted and the damn thing starts from Frame 1? what the? I thought these things saved their progress....I'm very frustrated

how did you shut off the PC and what OS is it using

I got the same thing for the first 2 weeks when I started using console on my P4 2.4C. Yo HAVE to open the console window and use Ctrl and C to close the window, otherwise you'll use whatever work you've done so far.

oh, hmmm, well I'm running it as a service, so I can't really cntrl-C a window, cause there's no window there. I think this may have happened because my computer froze when I started a game, but I didnt figure I'd lose so many hours of folding work...

but I've transferred over to the -advmethods for the Gromacs core, I'm the first to admit I dont really understand some of this stuff, but reading around it seems like those don't take as long, right?

I loose all work when my w98 box crashes, but my w2k boxes don't loose any work.
They are all running 3.25.
I presume that it has to do with how the OS shuts down.

from what i know, these thing ONLY happen on gromacs, that is whenever f@h is not shutdown properly, especially with win9x/me machines (these WUs are still beta and unstable). Tinkers (what ur running) however never have these problems, regardless on what OS ur running and whether u shut them down properly or not
