Strange behavior, Windows SBS 2003

I don't know if this is a quick fix or what, but I have a client running SBS 2003 and everything seems to be working fine, however, when I check the properties for My Network Places, there are no adapters/connections listed. There's definitely a connection there as I'm posting from this server right now, and there are two network adapters listed in device manager. When I run ipconfig I get the appropriate IP address for one of the adapters and a 169.x.x.x for the other adapter. I didn't set this thing up, I kind of inherited it from the business owner's nephew. The nephew can't remember how or why the server started acting this way but he know about it. Everything is working fine otherwise on this server, but this still worries me. Should I be worried or is there a simple answer to this?
