After I purchase a SATA controller and put two hard drives, 250GB and 320GB, on this SATA controller and all of the suden my computer is having hard time finding my IDE primary hard drive that contains the OS. I get an error about going back and choosing a hard drive to boot and also I kept having keyboard error.

If your boot seq is alright in the bios I am betting the new sata drives change the drive numbering. So the boot.ini is now poitning to the wrong drive perhaps.

Boot into recovery console and try using bootcfg to rebuild the boot.ini for you.

Or ifs your uneasy in recovery console you might try a repair install. But if the boot.ini is pointing to the wrong disk the repair won't work.

Thank you. I got it working now. I took the jumper pin off the IDE drive and now it works.
