Problems with quicktime video

edited August 2005 in Hardware
I was uninstalling Quicktime to update to a newer version. There were two uninstall brackets to click on. One said (Uninstall QuickTime) The other one said (Uninstall QuickTime but not Recommended because it might affect other files on your computer). Well like a big dummy I clicked the wrong one accidently. Now I can't view any video's on QuickTime. I CAN HEAR THE AUDIO BUT I CAN'T SEE THE VIDEO PART ANYMORE. I SURE DO NEED SOME HELP ON FIXING MY PROBLEM. THANKYOU

JUGHEAD

PS: I HAVE UNINSTALLED QUICKTIME AND INSTALLED QUICKTIME SEVERAL TIMES BUT IT DOESN'T HELP. STILL CAN'T SEE VIDEO'S ON QUICKTIME.

If no one can find a fix for you you could always use a workaround :).

it sounds like your quicktime video codec is broken. I'm not sure why a reinstall doesn't fix the issue -- I'll go googling. if I can't find anything else though, I'm going to suggest the quicktime alternative which won't install the quicktime PLAYER but will allow quicktime files to be opened via any media player on your system

yesss i love VLC. I use it for all video files except real media files for which i use RealAlternative.
