I have a question

When i go into the server, finish loading in the gray bar than, it said " Data loaded, Verifying Client Data" and it took 3 to 5 minutes to finish verifying...
but my friend only takes 30sec. to 1 minutes to finish???

I have tried 3 times reinstall the game, window but it also took a long time???

Here is my computer's config:

CPU: AMD Athlon XP 3000+ (CM Hyper 6+)
MainBoard: Asus A7S8X
Video Card: Inno3d Nivida FX5700

Well i am using wireless lan, is it the porblem???

That hurts my head. A T-1 is 1.544Mbps up, and 1.544Mbps down.

I think that is what he has the game set to as opposed to what he has (T1 is a dedicated lease line to the net, not a LAN). What connection do you actually have, not what do you have the game set to.

Are you trying to connect to a private server or general public servers on the server list?

I have this same problem with my computer. For some odd reason this system has slower load times than my other technically slower system. I can't figure out why it does it, it just does it. I'm running the same CPU as you and I would swear that it was the problem because I never could find a real culprit. Do I have any proof? Nope, just a feeling, something has always seemed a bit off with this processor.

Gabriel, unless you live in the netherlands, or south korea, there is a REALLY good chance that you don't have a 10mb internet connection. I think you are seeing a 10mb connection to the router from your computer. What kind of internet connection do you have? DSL? Cable? Go to this speed test to see what your actual connection is.

that speed test doesn't seem to work for me, it keeps saying my connection speed is less than 200 KBps when I am positive its greater than 10 MBps (I'm on a university OC3), I prefer these http://www.dslreports.com/stest

also how much RAM (and what type) do you have and how much does your friend have? Also, what videocard does your friend have? That videocard is on the low end for BF2. Switching from a 9800 Pro to a 6800GT improved the time it would take for the "Join" button to appear for me, as did 2GB PC3200 as opposed to 1GB PC3200. The wireless lan might also have something to do with it, try connecting wired to test if you can.

Set your connection speed in game to Cable\256 mbps

    Well...

    EA Hongkong's respond:

The speed of transferring data usually do with the ISP you are using and
the actual usage of the line also affects.

    Wow, theres a response.

Come to think of it it could be the router you are behind maybe. I know for some reason my computer and router combo HATE things like bittorrents and the Warcraft patching system. Maybe this is somehow related?
