'Helpful' discription box's.

Hi Y'all.
Ok this is driving me nuts, No, not the steering wheel in me pants, that little pop up box that comes up whenever I hold the cursor over a desktop icon or explorer folder. It's a yellow box giving me info about the icon\folder and I don't want it. Where do I turn it off? CAN I turn it off? I'm sure I've had it off before.

Well it's just when I'm browsing folders, where ever I leave the cursor this distracting box pops up and I have to move it to see other folders, then it pops up somewhere else. I'd rather just be rid of it. Can it be got rid of?

Ah, I'll go look for a way to turn it off then. From habit I have ALWAYS left the cursor in a blank area due to tooltips popping up so luckily due to self conditioning I don't have that problem

This is Shareware and it says in the features list "Disable desktop and explorer tooltips" so it looks like it may be what you need (you'll only need it once anyway so it doesn't matter if it's time limited shareware). http://www.haysoft.com/hs/untproduct.php3?fid=3000

Thanks Enverex but it turns out to much more simple than that.
Folder Options > View > uncheck 'Show pop-up description for desktop items' and 'display file size information in tool tips'. I thought it was harder than that because I remember trying to get rid of them before but couldn't remember how.

DOH. I remember seeing an option like that somewhere and I checked the display options and advanced but forgot about the one under folder options!

I know. We can cope with world hunger or any of the big questions, it's the little things that screw us up. I've been cursing those yellow boxs for months.
