Finally got my PC back lastnight after being hit by lightning. Only took 12 days :shakehead

Anyhow, I did a repair install on it since the MOBO is different...and windows is starting up slow as hell. I get to the welcome screen and it takes a good 5 mins for it to load all the way up. Any ideas?

Thanks guys and gals!

Have you reinstalled your motherboard's chipset drivers?

Have they installed properly? Bring up device manager and see if there is anything with a (?) or (!) next to it and check to see if the things like the IDE controler and the North/Southbridge on the device list looks like it has the correct driver installed too (as opposed to the default Windows one).

Did you install the Intel Application Accelerator? (Going by your sig, I'm assuming you're using the intel 865 board?)

re-installing SP2 ended up clearing it up.

Intel Application Accelerator only works up to the 845 series boards if I'm not mistaken. I need to change my sig anyhow.
