Hot swap problem

edited August 2005 in Hardware
Hi

I have a server running windows 2000. It has 2 SATA mirrored hot swap drives. I removed the drive whilst the pc was running. I then replaced the drive. I now get an error saying there is a critical error with the drive. I don't care about loosing the data on the disk. However I do need to get it running. I can live with just using the good disk. However I need to partition the drive. When I try installing a new operating system it says it can't see any hard drives. The question is how do I ignore the damaged drive (I checked the bios and it seemed to think there was only one disk). How badly would the drive be damaged. (I thought it would be ok, clearly not)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
