Does anyone know anything about Laser Printers?

Okay I got the Samsung ML-2010 Laser Printer.

A few questions.

Will leaving it on waste the toner/cartridge life? (the ML-2010 is a both in one combo)

Before it prints it sounds like it heats up twice, is that normal?
Just asking cause my friend had a small laser print in high school around 1998 that printed instantly (that why I got a laser cause I was jealous) and I didn't hear any heat up what so ever.

Also there is quite some white electronic nosie while it is on, but it does away completely after being on 15 minutes. What is with that?

Also anything else I should know about laser prints since this is my first laser?

Thanks

Leaving it on will not waste any ink.

Heating up is fine and normal.

White electronic noise? Like a humming? I do not follow that one.

No - toner is only user whilst it's printing ..

The smaller the laser the faster the warm up
the larger the printer the longer
also colour laser printers need much more warm up and also tend to be alot noisier.

as for your white noise, sounds like the fan or some other moving component is not running "smooth"

That noise could be from a bearing going out in a fan. Sometimes they'll make a noise for awhile then sound normal. If the noise gets worse yet your printer still works great, then I would start looking at that.
