Spyware on computer...slowing down terribly

I just got back from vacation..and while using my computer...a bunch of pop ups come up even when I am not browsing the internet, but rather working normally on my computer. Also my homepage is always "reset" to "about:blank", though I change it everytime. I have run ADAware, and it didn't fix the problem, someone please help me clean up my computer.
I try to download Hijackthis to post it for you guys...but as soon as i try to "extract" it with Winzip...McAfee deletes the program because "it is infected with the W32/Generic.worm!p2p virus..my computer is messing up a lot, so this is sort of urgent..PLEASE someone help me.thank you.

    Ok, when you turn on your computer, first right click on the mcafee shield and disable the protection.

    Once the protection is disabled, try extracting and running HiJackThis.

    If for some reason this still doesn't work, try extracting in safe mode. To do this, reboot your computer and being to tap the F8 key. You should be able to extract it in safe mode too.

    Arightly lets see what we can do :)

    First I want you to download About:Buster and AdAware. The DL links are both in my signature. Once you have downloaded AdAware go ahead and install/run it. Don't worry about running a scan just yet, but when you run it make sure you tell it to update to ensure it gets all the newest crap off your computer.

    Once you have updated AdAware go ahead and reboot your computer in safe mood like I said in the previous post.

    When you are in safemode open up HJT and delete these keys:

    After you delete those you can close HJT. Now open up AdAware and run a full system scan (still in safemode). Delete whatever it finds. Lastly you can run the About:Buster program before you restart in regular mode.

    When you reboot your system should be clean, you can run AdAware once more if you wish just to be safe.
