The new card will feature 8 pixel and 6 vertex processors enabled at 470MHz or 475MHz core speeds and the memory will run up to 980 MHz.
Recommended pricing for 128MB version of the RADEON X800 GT is expected to be around $139, whereas 256MB flavour is expected to cost below $200, the level at which ATI sells its RADEON X800 product that features VPU with higher performance.

So GT means lowest? Seriously, I wish the industry would standardize it's naming schemes.

I think they do it on purpose.

ATi view: People see "GT" and they think 6800 GT, which means fast, even though this card isn't. They also might see it the other way - "nVidia GT can't even keep up with ATi GT, nVidia sux0rszomg!"

nVidia view: Those asshats stole our name. Also, "Our GT is better than yours, damn right, it's better than yours. We could teach you, but we'd have to charge." *booty wiggle*

I think they should adopt something like:

    ATI Cheap
    ATI Medium
    ATI Fast

Seriously.. I think some guy took a walk in the parking lot, and just took the suffix from every car model ever released.. We're probably going to start seeing the ATI AWD, ATI COBRA, and ATI VR6 pretty soon..

Why would they put out another card if the x600 isnt even supported on x64 edition. ATI should get their act together and have COMPATIBLITY. ATI is ill prepared for a mainstream market. Atleast Nvidia gives support for x64. Ya and i emailed them about compatibility. Here their exact message:
