DDR-2 shipments in July totaled 40% of Samsung's total company output with DDR-1 chips coming to 30%.
According to market research by De Dios and Associates, DDR2 sales will increase from $1.5 billion in 2004 to $6.5 billion this year to $18 billion in 2006. Samsung's own DDR-2 production totals have increased from 10 million 256-Mbit equivalents in July 2004 to 360 million 256-Mbit equivalents throughout the first six months of 2005. Actualy July 2005 shipment numbers were not released.
With Socket M2 and DDR2 support for AMD processors coming in 2006, expect this trend to continue.
