hard drive differences

what is the difference between one: 74GB @ 10K RPM hard drive,
compared to one say for example: any ???GB @ 7200 RPM hard drive?

    i've been trying to figure out if i should use Windows XP64 or stick with the regular Windows XP Pro for an AMD64 i'm putting together?

    regular XP Professional definitely. Don't get into XP64.

    the driver support isn't there. you'll run into all sorts of issues, and you wouldn't have noticed a performance increase anyway

    i see, thanx for the feedback.
    so i'll just stick with the regular XP Pro in the mean time..
