Microsoft have updated the graphics for the currently in-development Internet Explorer 7 web browser.

Hopefully, by now you’ve seen from our posts that there are a lot of new features and work going into IE 7. As part of this update, we’re refreshing our icon and logotype. We considered more radical departures from our current logo, but blue “e” with the ring is very recognizable and familiar to users, so we elected instead to make more subtle changes.

You know, I read CPU mag religiously, and Alex St. John's self-congratulatory articles as well. While DirectX has done a lot for Windows gaming, in the long run it has been an anchor to game developers who want to make products cross-platform, and I hope more companies go with OpenGL in the future.

Yeah, I think gaming is one of the main reasons a lot of people are stuck using Windows when they would rather be using Linux or OS X.

yeah, too bad when the stupid Direct X 9 war was going on between The Geforce FX series and the Radeon 9XXX series was going on, everyone praised ATi For better DX9 support...

What no one realizes is that DX = crap

At least when it comes to porting games to other OSes....

Well I like the new logo, it's cool. But I also love the Mozilla Thunderbird logo.
