RIAA Admits CD-R More a Threat than P2P

At the core of forgotten
The Register is reporting that based on figures from market watcher NPD, RIAA chief executive Mitch Bainwol stated music fans acquired nearly twice as many songs by duplicating CDs than by illegal downloads.
According to figures from NPD, 29% of the recorded music obtained by listeners last year came from content copied onto recordable media. Only 16% came from illegal downloads. These figures may explain the growing number of copy protected CDs landing on store shelves.

Source: The RegisterOver the last few months, we've seen a growing number of stories published by the mainstream media that highlight the growing number of copy-protected CDs in the market and, in particular, those that have become big sellers. If we didn't know better, we'd suggest this was all part of a scheme to attempt to ease consumers' concerns that the music industry is out to make it a darn sight harder to listen to music on a computer. But they wouldn't do that, would they? Ahem.

What have I been saying all along? Eh? Eh? Shove it, RIAA asshats. Oh, and for your next move, target portable mp3 players. A little birdy tells me they're quite a bit larger than a CD, and much easier to pirate with. Don't worry, though, I promptly sued that little birdy for more than it'll ever make in it's lifetime. Oh, yeah sorry, don't mean to cramp your style...
They really do need to shove it, they make more in a year then i will make in my life, no wonder they dont understand why we cant pay $20!! for one CD, they are already makin enough, they just want that vacation in muai.
I look for them to try and ban the internet. maybe even mtv and the radio.
If your lookin at this ya little RIAA execs i have a message for ya: "Go shove my downloaded songs up your ass, as far as you can push. and take the bonus you got for prosecuting some 16 year old kid for $80,000, and spend it to have them surgically removed.
The point is that RIAA took advantage of so many people just because they downloaded music. not only that they made them pay thousands sometimes even a million dollars. How jacked up is that? I mean... they could have easily like made you buy all the cds you downloaded or something... but no.... they have to take your house and car and everything you own. Buncha punks just pushin people around. If i was bill gates i would pick a fight with them and sue them for everything they ever thought they could own. but im not... im just an angry nerd... so i will leave now..
