Powerstrip trial ended. Need a new CUSTOM refresh rate forcer.

edited August 2005 in Science & Tech
One of the reasons i bought a compaq P1100 was because it could do 1600x1200 at 95hz. The problem is that for some reason the drivers don't have this option to choose from so even using most of the refresh forcing methods like ReForce or rage3dtweak don't work. The only one that's let me do 1600x1200 at 95hz has been powerstrip but now my trial period has ended and it seems silly to buy such a large program for just this tiny little reason.

Does anyone know of any other programs that let you force odd refresh rates?

I believe MultiRes does the same thing. It comes bundled with Omegas drivers but I'm sure with a good search you can find their site and download it.

Rivatuner can do it I believe.

See here, and instead of zombie'ing through the "Autopopulate" screen, manually enter the refresh rates you'd like. I tried it, and was able to add 82Hz for 1600x1200 on my monitor (As opposed to the default 85).

What happens when i manually enter 95hz in for 1600 x 1200 is that windows no longer recognizes the resolution and doesn't even let me switch to it.

This is taken from the MultiRes website.
While MultiRes - unlike EnTech’s PowerStrip - does not allow you to define new display settings, it does give you quick and easy access to the ones the driver makes available
I think here is where my problem is. The drivers don't make 95hz available even though my monitor can support it. So far powerstrip is the only thing i've seen that lets you customize all that stuff.

Ok, rivatuner looks promising as it has a very similar setting to powerstrip's where you actually set the verican and horizontal frequencies. Can anyone help me figure out how to use this correctly though? I forgot what ratio you use for vert/horaz. Like if i want my horizonal to be 95 what do i set the vertical at?
