Looks like the Athlon64's initial ships beat the Extreme chip uinveiling by 5 days. Second, the 2 MB is additional cache on top of the base, total 2.5 MB cache, with 2 MB of L3 and .5 of L2. Looks like the Athlon64 beat the P4 EE to market by 35-65 days as Intel was quoting 30-60 days from yesterday to market. TheInquirer article link below:

John (who has one each of a Barton 2500+
box and a P4 now, and is looking for another semi-quantum leap for next upgrade and wants an FPU and cache intense chip for high-res video work and output. I also just got the one of the first Epson C84's to come here locally, decent price at $79.88 after intro rebate at Staples given printer is quiter than the C80, the minimum size for droplets is 2 picoliters, it can print at 5760x1440, handles 66 lb business card preperfs fine while also autosensing 20 pound copy paper right and feeding it right, does great photo printing, and carts are not much more than the C80 carts once you consider smaller droplet size and more droplet size steps, and the availability of a double size Black cartridge which can be used WITH the color cartridges. ).
